Need for Respite Care

Oregon's 60,000 families and caregivers of people with DD need an accessible, reliable, safe, and affordable service to provide temporary relief from the overwhelming responsibility of 24-hour,
7-day a week personal care. Respite care is the number one requested support service asked by caregivers of individuals with DD. Currently, organizations in Oregon offer very few programs to meet the urgent respite needs of the caregivers.
