Martha’s Place
Oregon's First Bed and Breakfast for People with Developmental Disabilities

Martha's Place, Oregon's first bed and breakfast for individuals with developmental disabilities (DD), is a respite care home that provides affordable overnight care for up to five individuals at one time.  Martha's Place is state licensed as a Foster Care Provider and has provided tens of thousands of hours of respite care since its opening in June 2002.

Need for Martha's Place
Oregon's 60,000 families and caregivers of people with DD need an accessible, reliable, safe, and affordable service to provide temporary relief from the overwhelming responsibility of 24-hour, 7-day a week personal care.  Respite care is the number one requested support service asked by caregivers of individuals with DD.  Currently, organizations in Oregon offer very few programs to meet the urgent respite needs of the caregivers.
